Technical Details

 


The chute is made from cutting edge fabrics, designed-for and proven-in military applications. It is comprised of five layers of advanced materials.

  • The innermost fabric layer is the strength component of the chute, combining required load bearing capabalities with a durable sliding surface.
  • The second layer is a galvanized steel coil spring which provides a structural exoskeleton.
  • The third layer is a highly efficient thermal insulation fabric. >more
  • The fourth layer is a woven fire resistant fabric providing protection to the overall system.
  • The outer layer is a spunbonded polyolefin for general cover and environmental protection.

The Foxxhole™ System is anchored to a rig by a fully load rated wire cable. This cable is secured to an anchor point at the crown of the rig and travels through a fitting on top of the evacuation door at the rear of the racking board.

The evacuation is rapid. In an emergency, the evacuee proceeds to the rear of the racking board where he simply enters the chute feet-first after disconnecting from any fall arrest device and slides to safety.
